Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of the Proofbits app and consultation service. Please read them carefully before booking a consultation.
Last updated: 1 July 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Proofbits app or website (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
Proofbits is offered by Proofbits Pty Ltd ("Proofbits", "we", "us", "our"). These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Proofbits.
2. Description of Service
Proofbits connects patients with registered healthcare professionals through secure video consultations. Following a consultation, a healthcare professional may, at their clinical discretion, issue a digital medical or carer's certificate.
- Consultations are conducted over encrypted video call within the app.
- Certificates are issued only when clinically appropriate, as determined solely by the assessing professional.
- The Service is intended for minor, short-term conditions and is not a substitute for emergency or ongoing medical care.
3. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to create an account and use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and consultations. Providing false information may result in a certificate being refused, revoked, or reported.
4. Consultations & Certificates
Certificates issued through Proofbits are prepared by registered healthcare professionals and are intended to be accepted by employers, universities, and other institutions in the same manner as certificates issued in person, subject to the recipient's own policies.
- A certificate is not guaranteed and will not be issued if the professional determines it is not clinically appropriate.
- You will not be charged a certificate fee if no certificate is issued, though a consultation fee may still apply where disclosed at checkout.
- If you believe you have a medical emergency, do not use Proofbits — call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department immediately.
5. Payments & Refunds
Fees are displayed in the app prior to booking and are charged upon completion of a successful consultation and, where applicable, issuance of a certificate. All payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider.
Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis in line with Australian Consumer Law. If you experience a technical issue that prevented you from receiving a service you paid for, contact us at demo@negits.com.
6. Acceptable Use
When using the Service you agree not to:
- Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information to a healthcare professional.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
- Use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms.
- Record, reproduce, or distribute a consultation without the consent of all participants.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, software, and design associated with Proofbits are the property of Proofbits Pty Ltd or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we work to keep the Service reliable and secure, we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
Clinical advice and certificate decisions are made independently by the healthcare professional you consult with, not by Proofbits as a company.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Proofbits will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms excludes any guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these terms or misuse the Service, including providing false information to obtain a certificate. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time from within the app.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts.
